Getting Started with Social Q&A

1. Choose an Upcoming Event

Check your calendar for the next event you're hosting that will have Q&A. It might be a keynote, a company town hall, a panel, a personal presentation, or something else entirely.

2. Select a Social Q&A Plan

A few weeks prior to your chosen event, sign up for a paid Social Q&A plan. This will give you plenty of time to become a Social Q&A jedi and make your next Q&A session awesome.

FAQs

What if I just want to use Social Q&A one time, for a single event?

Even if you're using Social Q&A for one keynote session on a single day, you still have to subscribe to a monthly plan. When your event is over, you can cancel your plan.

Can I change plans at any time?

Upgrading and downgrading is easy. We'll pro-rate any upgrade, and if you downgrade (or cancel), you will retain full access for the remainder of the billing period.

Can I have more than one session?

Each account is only assigned one session. You can use this session as often as you want to but currently there is not the ability to run multiple, concurrent sessions through one account.

If you have a conference or event that has multiple concurrent sessions you can visit the website for Social Q&A’s parent product, Conferences.io -- which offers additional features and functionality for multi-session events. The website is www.conferences.io

How can I prevent inappropriate use?

Generally this is not an issue with most attendees, particularly in a profession setting. We realize that this is a common concern though, and we’ve developed a couple of way to prevent it from happening.

Moderators can immediately delete questions which removes them from everyone’s page. We also have a ‘moderation queue’ functionality which requires a moderator to approve a question before it becomes visible to the public.

Do my attendees need to download your app in order to use it?

Nope. Social Q&A is entirely web-based, meaning that there is nothing that attendees need to download or install in order to use it. The application runs entirely through their device’s web browser (just like any other website).

What kind of devices can attendees use?

We’ve optimized Social Q&A to work with any internet-enabled device. That means smartphones, iPads, other tablets, laptops, etc. As long as the device has a web-browser and is connected to the internet, it should work with Social Q&A.

Is wi-fi required in order to use the app?

No, wi-fi is not required in order for attendees to use Social Q&A. While some sort of internet connection is required, it does not have to be wi-fi. The application will work perfectly fine through data-plans (3G, 4G, LTE, etc.) as long as there is service in the room.

Do I need to project the questions on the big screen?

This is totally optional but it’s certainly not a requirement. In fact, the majority of our users don’t project the questions anywhere, since everyone on the app is able to see the list of questions right on their own device. For those who want to have the questions projected on the big screen, we offer a “Live Action Mode” functionality which makes this easy and clean.

Do the attendees have to be in the room in order to use Social Q&A?

Nope! As long as your attendees know your access code they can join your session from any location, whether their in the same physical room as you or attending virtually via live-stream or webinar.

Can more than one person moderate the app at the same time?

Yes. You can have more than one person moderating your session. You will just need to provide them with your account email address and password.
