Trying Social Q&A at an event is similar to testing in smaller settings.
The primary difference is that you need to make additional considerations for communicating the onboarding information. We keep it as simple as “Enter access code 12345 at JoinQA.com”.
You may want to add this as an introductory presentation slide, a flyer posted throughout the room, or even a handout given to everyone in the audience.
We’ve found that taking a minute or two to get everyone into the Q&A session is absolutely worth the effort.
You should also look into your venue’s wi-fi capability. Social Q&A doesn’t use much data, so sheer bandwidth won’t be a problem. If you’re not sure, ask your venue’s staff if its wireless access points can handle all your attendees connecting at once.
